And thanks to the trial jury for their service, as well as everyone who put their trust in the system. It was a privilege to be part of this success story, and kind of cool to go to trial in Alaska and take in its amazing landscape.

July 19, 2019 Congrats to the good people at Southwest Airlines and their outside counsel including Tim Ryan, Rebekka Martorano, and Andy Ryan on their defense verdict in Oakland today. This was a challenging wrongful death trial, involving a passenger who had a pulmonary embolism while in the bathroom during flight. While the trial and pre-trial prep took me away from home for much of the last 2 months, I am so honored and proud to have been part of this success story. Special thanks to the jury for sticking with us for 5 weeks and for getting it right. And kudos to all involved for trusting the jury system.

July 12, 2019 Congrats to Russ Emerson, Stephanie Sivinski, Charlie Jones, and the entire trial team from Haynes & Boone, LLP on their jury verdict in EDTX-Marshall. These fine professionals were defending a complicated breach of contract and patent infringement case with millions at stake, and involving a S. Korean defendant. But their preparation and trial strategy made it easy for the jury to get it right, with their client coming out ahead in the end. It was a privilege and a pleasure to be a small part of their success story.

June 5, 2019 Congrats to Kerry Scanlon, Jeremy White, and the entire trial team from McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP on their defense verdict on behalf of Alcon Labs. This was a 2+ week jury trial in Ft. Worth concerning an employment dispute. These fine professionals worked tirelessly to make sure the jury got this one right. It was a pleasure and a privilege to play a role in their successful outcome. And kudos to the trial jury for their time and for providing further proof that the jury system works.

May 24, 2019 Congrats to Mike Stolper and his team, as well as our clients Gentry Beach and Rob Vollero, on their $45M jury verdict ($90M with pre-trial interest) in NY on a breach of oral agreement case. This was a long-standing and contentious battle over money owed to portfolio managers within the hedge fund world. In the end, it may have boiled down to a case of character due the complexities involved in the financial transactions at issue. It was both a privilege and pleasure to contribute to this success story.

May 14, 2019 Congrats to J.R. Scherr, Patrick Harvey, Clara Kollm, David Marvin and the entire trial team from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP on their defense jury verdict in Maryland on behalf of Express Scripts/Cigna. This was a breach of contract case in the technology space. These fine professionals worked hard to make sure this jury was focused and came to the right result. It was a pleasure and a privilege to contribute to their success.

April 26, 2019 Congrats to Steve McConnico, Santosh Aravind, and the entire trial team from Scott, Douglass & McConnico, LLP on their jury verdict on behalf of Marathon Oil. This was an oil & gas contract dispute that went to trial in Karnes, TX with the jury siding in our favor on all issues. Steve is a master in the courtroom and an overall class act. He and his team simplified the complex nuances of business in the oil patch to help the jury get this one right. It was both a privilege and a pleasure to be part of this success story.
